Our Village
Location
Stavros, the seat of the municipality of Volvi, is located on the east side of Thessaloniki, appr. 80 km from it.
Built, on the coast of Strymonikos bay, Stavros is at a crossroads that unites the largest cities in Northern Greece. Thessaloniki, Kavala, Serres and Drama are within an hour (by car driving).
Nearby are archeological treasures (Stagira, Amphipolis, Philippi) and beautiful natural scenery worth browsing (Lake Volvi, Macedonian Tempi, Alistrati Cave).
Finally, Stavros is close to Mount Athos, the center of Eastern Christian Orthodox monasticism.
Sandy Beaches
Villa Stegiovana is located only 100 meters away from the main, central beach of Stavros, which is called Platania.
At the well organized sandy beach, which is dominated by over 100 centenarian plane trees, giving coolness to its visitors, you can enjoy your favorite coffee or drink, order a snack and of course swimming in shallow water (ideal for children).
The beach has lifeguard coverage as it is awarded each year with the blue flag of the European Union.
Finally, in Stavros, you will find another two beaches with similar characteristics to swim: Milies beach and Richios beach.
Going out / Shopping
Going out, in Stavros, you will find numerous cafeterias, restaurants, taverns, pizzerias to end a hot summer day.
Local fresh fish, traditional dishes, such as manti or mpoumparia, and local donuts as a dessert, is a must for food lovers.
In Stavros, you will find any kind of shop: souvenirs, clothes, shoes, jewelry, accessories, beachwear and supermarkets are within a distance of 200 meters.
In conclusion, Stavros is an excellent summer resort, ideal for families with children, to experience a carefree summer vacation, in greek style.
